Have you ever wondered what it was like in Bethlehem during the first century when Jesus was born?
Each December, on the second Sunday of the month, for one busy day, Woodmont Christian Church, entertains thousands as they visit a representation of what first century Bethlehem may have been like during the time of the census. We have a cast of hundreds dressed in costume, including Roman soldiers and centurions. The lower level of our church, the gymnasium and the south courtyard gets transformed into the village and outskirts of what Bethlehem may have been like on a smaller scale on the night of the birth of Jesus. We have shared the story of Christ's birth in a different and exciting way and have had many visitors come to see the Christ child from as far away as Europe to the East and the island country of Tonga in the South Pacific.
